Please check the calendar for all current events. We look forward to seeing you at the library!
Murphy-Helwig Library is proud to have a monthly "Coffee House" held on the first Tuesday of every month from 10 a.m. 12 noon, highlighting a different monthly topic. At this time there are coffee and refreshments available & everyone is welcome to join in the fun.
Bookworms, our local library support group, often sponsors a speaker from the area at these events. Book discussions are held twice a year during the months of October and April, at which time we'll publish specific details on titles, dates, and times. Our library buys the books and materials that we think are most wanted by our community. Because of limited resources and space we can’t buy everything that is published, but we can usually get it from another library. This is called "inter-library loan"
Murphy-Helwig Library is connected to other libraries throughout the state and nation. So if you can't find an item in this library, ask library staff to help you get it from another library. We're part of a vast network of participating libraries that are willing to loan out materials to other libraries so that everyone has everything they need. We enjoy reading just as much as you do & we'd love to talk to you about books. Stop into the library to see our displays of featured books, talk to a librarian about what you're reading, or get ideas on what to read next.
