Sit, read a book or relax for a spell on one of the many memorial park benches resting under the shade trees of the Butterfly Gardens, where, at certain times of the year, you will observe a large variety of birds, butterflies and pollinators. See and smell the colorful perfumed perennial blooms and fresh rural Iowa air.

Take your friends, family or grandchildren for a walk or play-time at the nearby GARDEN VIEW PARK with its new playground, picnic-rest areas, gazebo & memorial park benches dotted along the Butterfly Trail, winding through parks & gardens around town.

In 2020, we just finished expanding our Memory Care units from 6 to 10, which give us 38 total one- or two-bedroom apartments and studio apartments that consist of : Independent Assisted Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care apartments, with a full range of services available such as various levels of assistance, meals, transit, garage rental, and more. In 2020, we completed building our brand new four-seasons room complete with vista views and cozy fireplace, and brand new cozy, comfy furniture. Our dining area also has been remodeled to better suit our residents' dining needs.

GARDEN VIEW PLACE is a 34-unit assisted-living facility with on-site licensed staff, a wide range of optional home services and Enhanced Memory Care services. Our facility is located in Monona, Clayton County, Iowa in the northeastern tip of our great state, in the heart of the naturally-pristine, picturesque and unique Driftless Area.

Below is a GVP resident volunteering by listening to a young student reading a book to her at MFL MarMac CSD.

One morning we were up "bright and early" to go to the elementary school to read with the children. What a wonderful feeling -- as much as we love and appreciate all those caring individuals who come in to our retirement houses to volunteer time -- we can also share our time to help groom our future leaders from MFL MarMac.

We plan to visit every other Wednesday and the school can always use more reading volunteers. So we challenge you too to share some time to give back your service to your community.
