Fishing

Northeast Iowa provides rich natural resources with an abundance of places for fishing. Monona is uniquely positioned amongst these resources and located next to several trout fishing streams. Just north of Monona in Allamakee County is Hickory Creek. This creek is lightly fished and provides a place where you can get away from it all. To the east of Monona is Bloody Run Creek and Bloody Run Park. They are part of a non-contiguous 660 acre timber and trout stream system, offering excellent trout fishing, camping, and hunting in one convenient location. Sny Magill is a large trout stream that offers plenty of elbow room. Over 1,600 acres of public lands are available in the Sny Magill valley which offers excellent scenery. A universally accessible fishing area has been established on Sny Magill to ensure that trout fishing can been enjoyed by everyone.
